The World Warrior Tournament is heading back to the big screen, and Toronto movie fans have a chance to see it before everyone else.
Street Fighter, the new live-action adaptation of Capcom’s legendary video game franchise, arrives in theatres on October 16, 2026, with a huge ensemble cast bringing some of the series’ most recognizable fighters to life.
Set in 1993, the film follows estranged Street Fighters Ryu (Andrew Koji) and Ken Masters (Noah Centineo), who are pulled back into combat when Chun-Li (Callina Liang) recruits them for the next World Warrior Tournament. What begins as a brutal competition soon reveals a larger conspiracy, forcing Ryu and Ken to confront each other as well as their own pasts.
Directed by Kitao Sakurai, Street Fighter brings together an unusually stacked cast drawn from film, television, comedy, music and professional wrestling. David Dastmalchian takes on the role of M. Bison, while WWE stars Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns appear as Guile and Akuma, respectively.
The cast also includes Andrew Schulz as Dan Hibiki, Eric André as Don Sauvage, Vidyut Jammwal as Dhalsim, Orville Peck as Vega, Olivier Richters as Zangief, Hirooki Goto as E. Honda, Rayna Vallandingham as Juli, Alexander Volkanovski as Joe and Mel Jamson as Cammy.
Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson joins the fight as Balrog, while Jason Momoa steps into one of the franchise’s most memorable roles as Blanka.
Based on the Capcom video game series that became an arcade phenomenon and helped define the fighting-game genre, the new film promises to bring the franchise’s World Warriors, rivalries and over-the-top combat back to cinemas for a new generation.
Street Fighter is only in theatres, 4DX, ScreenX, Premium Large Formats and IMAX on October 16, 2026.
