Andy Deh, son of the late reggae hypeman MC Fullstop, has faced backlash online over controversial remarks about endometriosis, with critics accusing him of spreading misinformation about the condition.

Andy made the comments during a recent podcast while discussing media personality Natalie Githinji’s experience with endometriosis.

His remarks, which attributed the condition to contraceptive use, were challenged by other people on the podcast. 

However, Andy maintained his position, prompting criticism over what users described as an insensitive and medically inaccurate take on a serious women’s health condition.

The comments sparked an online debate, with comedian and media personality Eric Omondi among those who publicly called him out. 

Musician Kapitani also joined the criticism.

Some fans of MC Fullstop, who died in 2022, expressed disappointment over Andy’s remarks, with others comparing his public image to that of his late father, whom they remembered as a reggae entertainer associated with positivity and uplifting messages.

Endometriosis is a chronic condition in which tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside the womb, commonly affecting areas around the ovaries, fallopian tubes and other parts of the pelvis.

It can cause severe menstrual and pelvic pain, heavy bleeding, fatigue, pain during sex and, in some cases, difficulty getting pregnant.

The exact cause of endometriosis remains unknown. 

Researchers have identified several possible contributing factors, including genetics and changes in the immune system.

Medical evidence does not establish contraceptive use as a cause of endometriosis.
