Rapper A$AP Rocky has pulled out of a potential branding project with logo designer Allan Peters after Peters publicly shared a private Instagram message from the musician.

In the message seen by TNX Africa, the “Praise the Lord” hitmaker reached out to Peters to inquire about his rates for logo revisions.

“Good morning Allan. How much do u charge for brand logo revisions? Assuming you would be willing to do so, I would be honoured, love ur work, God bless,” Rocky wrote.

Peters, seemingly excited by the interaction, shared a screenshot of the message on Instagram with the caption: “I have no words.”

The “Peso” rapper, who is married to billionaire singer Rihanna, was unimpressed by the move.

“This is just distasteful,” Rocky commented in all caps. “Well, I guess we won’t be working, best of luck buddy.”

The exchange quickly went viral, drawing mixed reactions online, including from Kenyan social media users.

Following the backlash, Peters deleted the post.

Rather than respond directly to Rocky’s criticism, the designer, who has more than one million Instagram followers, shared Instagram Stories celebrating the milestone of reaching one million followers.

On X, user Sealie wrote, “Come on dude you are a celebrity who reached out to him, he didn’t mean any harm at all I bet. Celebrities get rich, successful, and just forget about what it is like at the bottom.”

Another user, Raah Toronto, added, “This is a very obvious miscommunication; people are overreacting. @AllanPeters is a very talented craftsman who was obviously excited about the shoutout from Rocky. I’m sure this works out, but regardless, both are talented and nothing nefarious here. It’s respect on both sides.”

Meanwhile, Rocky is currently touring in support of his new album, Don’t Be Dumb.

According to Complex, his creative agency, AWGE, recently pushed back against media reports, saying the rapper’s North American tour was completely sold out.

His European tour begins in Belgium on August 25 and concludes in Athens, Greece, on October 11.

The tour also includes a performance at Stockholm’s Avicii Arena, marking Rocky’s first show in Sweden since his month-long detention there in 2019.
