A pastor in Nairobi is facing accusations of defiling a 15-year-old girl under his pastoral care. The girl is said to be four months pregnant.
According to the charge sheet, Ejoi Anthony Omale unlawfully and intentionally defiled the teenager on January 3 at Spring Valley area in Njiru Sub-county within Nairobi County.
The accused is reportedly claimed to have abused the minor at the church office on multiple occasions as well as at a guest house.
According to the girl’s account, the incidents started on a day when she and other church members had attended a practice session that ended around 4pm.
One of her friends informed her that the pastor wanted to see her in his office. Upon arriving, she found him alone. He reportedly told her about a secret place he wished to take her to and handed her a small tube of Arimis petroleum jelly, instructing her to conceal it in her hoodie.
He directed her to wait for him at a structure near a carwash in the Red Square area. The pastor later joined her and led her through several roads to a guest house.
He instructed the girl to wait approximately ten minutes before following him into the already-booked room. Once inside, he locked the door, undressed her, and allegedly told her he loved her deeply and that she belonged to him alone.
The pastor then defiled her, after which he asked her to leave first. He handed her the petroleum jelly and warned her not to enter his office.
Appearing before Magistrate Gilbert Shikwe, the pastor denied the charges and was granted him a bond of Sh300,000 pending the earing of the case in September.
