Germany offers scholarships for African graduates

Germany has opened applications for its scholarship programme targeting graduates and postgraduates across Sub-Saharan Africa, offering new opportunities for advanced study and research abroad.

Announcing the programme on its X handle on Friday, Germany described the initiative as part of its commitment to international academic cooperation.

“DAAD scholarships are now available for graduates and postgraduates in Sub-Saharan Africa. See flier for more information and send in your applications. The deadline is 29 April 2026,” the post read

Interested applicants have been urged to carefully follow the instructions provided in the official flier, which contains details on eligibility, participating institutions, and application procedures.

“Applicants are advised to read all guidelines thoroughly and ensure that complete documents are submitted,” the post added.

The organisation also stressed the importance of meeting deadlines, warning that late submissions would not be accepted.

“The deadline for applications is 29 April 2026. We encourage candidates to apply well ahead of time,” it stated.

Germany noted that the programme remains highly competitive, attracting candidates from across the region seeking to further their academic and professional development.

“We are committed to strengthening global academic exchange and supporting future leaders through education,” it said.

With the application window now open, eligible candidates across Sub-Saharan Africa are encouraged to prepare and submit their applications before the deadline.
