The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has decorated former Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Jimoh Moshood Olohundare, as an Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) following his elevation to the rank.
The decoration ceremony, held at the Force Headquarters in Abuja, was attended by senior police officers and other dignitaries who witnessed the formal conferment of the new rank.
Speaking at the event, IGP Disu congratulated AIG Moshood, describing the promotion as well-deserved and a recognition of his dedication, professionalism, and years of meritorious service in the Nigeria Police Force.
He urged the newly promoted officer to deploy his wealth of experience and professionalism in the discharge of his new responsibilities.
According to the IGP, the elevation comes with greater expectations, particularly in enhancing operational effectiveness, discipline, and service delivery within the Force.
The ceremony is part of ongoing efforts by the Nigeria Police Force leadership to recognise excellence, reward commitment, and strengthen institutional capacity through merit-based promotions.
AIG Moshood is expected to assume higher strategic responsibilities as AIG in charge of Zone 2, Lagos, in line with his new rank, as the Force continues its push for improved policing and strengthened national security.
