Joseph Mwendwa, widely known as DJ Joe Mfalme, is mourning the loss of his beloved mother, Milicent Munoru, who passed away after a battle with cancer, the family confirmed.
Mfalme shared the news of his mother’s passing in an emotional tribute, revealing the cause of her death and asking for support from fans.
“It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of dear mother, beloved mum to Joseph Mwendwa (DJ Joe Mfalme) and Fiona Mwendwa, following a brave battle with cancer on Wednesday, 25 March 2026,” the announcement read.
“She was a kind, loving, and warm soul who touched many lives, and she will be dearly missed. We humbly ask for your prayers during this difficult time,” it added.

Details about memorial arrangements and funeral services are yet to be shared, but the family assured the public that updates will be provided in due course.
The DJ has been a mainstay in the Kenyan nightlife, entertaining revellers and sharing joy with music lovers.
His concerts are known for electric performances and memorable moments, many of which he has shared with fans across social media. His personal life, however, has mostly remained private.
The announcement has drawn condolences from fans, friends, and fellow entertainers.
