A viral video showing a female sports journalist being forcefully ejected from Nyayo National Stadium during the 2026 HSBC SVNS Challenger Series has drawn outrage.

The incident occurred during the widely hyped February 14-15 event.

In the footage, the journalist who has since been identified as Rix is seen in a confrontation with security personnel near an ambulance stationed inside the stadium grounds.

The situation appears to escalate after a man in a blue shirt begins pushing her away.

Clearly agitated, the Sports Eye Media reporter attempts to resist as the man lifts and carries her towards the exit.

Another guard is seen assisting in escorting her out as the camera pans away.

What led to the commotion and what transpired after that still remains unclear.

In the video, several onlookers can be heard questioning the scuffle.

“Sasa hawa wanapigana nini,” a man is heard asking in the background as the confrontation unfolds.

Rix was dressed in a blue skirt and a white Kenyan jersey at the time of the incident.

The chaotic moment has since sparked widespread debate on social media, with many Kenyans condemning the manner in which she was handled.

Some users identified the man in blue as an Administration Police officer and alleged he is also the head coach of the Kenyatta University Blakblad team, though this has not been independently verified.

On X, Benwa Cheruiyot wrote, “That guy in blue is a disgrace. Where I come from, we respect women and don’t touch them inappropriately. His actions are unacceptable.”

Mutwiri Mutuota added, “Whatever she did does not warrant such barbaric behaviour. If your sister or daughter were hauled like this, you would not be saying “Well Done”. This is an international event; there are ways to eject people with dignity. We will not condone such behaviour. PERIOD!”

“Those actions amount to ‘indecent assault’. There are better ways to handle such situations. For example. Get three ladies who could respectfully handle her,” wrote another.
