Tinubu’s reforms have reset Nigeria for long-term growth – Presidential aide

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters (House of Representatives), Ibrahim Olarewaju, has said President Bola Tinubu’s reform-driven agenda and infrastructure push have repositioned Nigeria’s economy for long-term stability and growth.

Olarewaju, an All Progressives Congress chieftain in Ekiti State and former member of the House of Representatives, said the administration achieved this through measures aimed at boosting revenue generation, strengthening public finance management and restoring investor confidence.

In a statement made available in Ado Ekiti on Sunday, he noted that although the reforms were challenging at inception, they had begun laying a solid foundation for fiscal discipline and sustainable development.

“President Bola Tinubu has demonstrated courage and statesmanship in taking decisive steps to reset our economy. These reforms are not just policies on paper; they are practical steps toward securing Nigeria’s future,” he said.

He urged Nigerians to remain supportive and patient as the reforms continue to yield results, expressing confidence that the administration would ultimately deliver prosperity, stability and inclusive development.

The presidential aide also highlighted what he described as aggressive investments in road infrastructure across the six geopolitical zones, saying they reflect the Renewed Hope Agenda in action.

He cited projects such as the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, which he described as a transformational corridor expected to unlock economic opportunities, enhance coastal connectivity and stimulate tourism and trade.

Olarewaju also listed ongoing works on the Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano Road, the East-West Road, the Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway and the Ibadan-Ife-Ilesa Road, among others.

“The administration is not only initiating new legacy projects but also prioritising the completion of inherited and previously stalled federal road projects to ensure value for public funds.

“These road projects are more than construction activities; they are economic lifelines. They reduce travel time, improve security, lower transportation costs, create employment and strengthen national integration,” he said.

Olarewaju reaffirmed his commitment to working closely with the National Assembly to secure sustained legislative backing for policies and projects aimed at advancing national growth and unity.

The former lawmaker, who represented Ekiti Moba/Ido-Osi Federal Constituency II, also recently commended Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, for what he described as bold policy direction and impactful governance reforms.

He praised the governor’s focus on youth empowerment, infrastructural renewal, security, education and healthcare delivery, saying the initiatives had repositioned Ekiti State on the path of sustainable development.
