A mysterious billboard featuring President William Ruto has left Nairobi motorists puzzled and sparked heated debate online.

The advert, spotted along Ngong Road and now trending on X, shows the Head of State dressed in a grey Kaunda suit while holding a document, listing qualities such as “Bold,” “Brave,” and “Innovative,” and also includes patriotic hashtags alonside the phrase “A Cut Above the Rest.”

The display also highlighted President Ruto’s accolades, including his CGH (Chief of the Order of the Golden Heart) title and his academic achievement as a PhD holder.

Adding to the intrigue, a phone number appeared prominently on the billboard, a detail that has since fuelled speculation and mixed reactions online.

While some Kenyans expressed confusion over the message and its origin, others dismissed it as a waste of taxpayers’ money.

Given the country’s ongoing economic challenges, several users suggested the billboard could be subtly signalling an early push toward the 2027 General Election.

The image was first shared by X user AbdiHakim Keinan, who wrote, “I saw this along Ngong Road this morning and couldn’t understand it up to now. What exactly is the advert for?”

Veteran media personality Eric Latiff also weighed in, questioning the motive behind the display.

“Who is behind this billboard? What’s the message? And why is their telephone number so prominent? What do they want us to do with it?” he asked.

Another user, Kibet Bull, compared the billboard to past campaigns by Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni, writing, “It shouts this, by 2027 his campaign posters will be at JKIA.”

Meanwhile, Mbiyu warned against personality politics, noting, “When we resort to individual worship and not the agenda or ideology, we have lost it as a country.”
