APC drops Uzodimma as National Convention chairman, appoints Masari

Uzodimma sends out invite for Imo golden jubilee celebrations

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has reconstituted the leadership of its 2026 National Convention Central Coordination Committee, appointing former Katsina State governor, Aminu Bello Masari, as the new chairman.

The party also reassigned Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, who was earlier named to lead the committee, to serve as treasurer.

In addition to the leadership changes, the APC expanded the membership of the committee from 73 to 90 members in a move aimed at accommodating more party stakeholders.

New members added to the committee include Senator Barry Mpigi and other prominent chieftains of the ruling party.

According to the APC, the changes were part of a revised composition of the 2026 National Convention Central Coordination Committee.

The party said the reconstitution was carried out to reflect zoning considerations and other strategic exigencies ahead of the planned national convention.
