A Kenyan woman was left in distress after a group of men surrounded her car along a street in Nakuru.
A viral video seen by TNX Africa shows three men standing in front of her vehicle, seemingly trying to intimidate her.
One of them, dressed in a black jacket, lightly hit the windshield, while another, wearing a brown blazer, newsboy cap, black t-shirt, and pants, covered his face with one hand and made offensive gestures with the other.
The third individual appeared distracted but also joined in the harassment.
At one point, the man in the blazer stepped on the car’s bonnet, prompting the clearly irritated woman to shout, almost in tears, “Acha kukanyanga gari yangu wewe. Toka hapo!”
The man in the brown blazer approached the side of the car and could be heard saying, “Toa pressure hapa,” which allegedly implied they wanted to deflate the car tyres.
The woman, visibly distressed, shouted at them to stop and questioned what wrong she had done.
“Achaneni na gari yangu! Kwani nimewafanyia nini?” she yelled.
Despite the verbal abuse and intimidation, the woman resisted.
When told “Piga nduru,” she did not back down, continuing to defend herself and her property.
She also questioned if it was wrong to park where she had, shouting, “Nini mbaya na nyinyi! Kwani sifai kupark hapa?”
The full context of the video is yet to be established, though the men reportedly claimed that she was being harassed because she had recorded them.
From visual and map data, the incident took place along an unmarked road off the busy Mburu Gichua road in Nakuru’s bustling CBD.
“Mbona unatupiga picha. Unadhani wewe ndio uko na gari peke yako,” one man said, to which she boldly responded, “Mbona mnagonga gari yangu?”
The video ends shortly after, and further details about the incident remain unknown.
The incident has sparked a mix of reactions on social media.
Some Kenyans suggested she should have left the area, while others applauded her courage in standing up to the bullies.
Beryl A commented on Instagram, “Wivu ni mbaya aki! Ni poa alijipigania.”
Anko Jeff added, “Bazenga hajui picha ya moja inatosha.”
Malachi Ogita noted, “Hii gari ni mafuta haina ama reverse gear ndio haifanyi… this is normal behavior in some parts of the road. Just leave the place and avoid it next time. Hio nduru mingi haisaidii.”
