Nairobi’s nightlife will get a classical music twist as The Bar Symphony makes its Kenyan debut, bringing orchestral arrangements of familiar songs to a contemporary entertainment setting.
The event, scheduled for Saturday, November 7, at The Alloy, Sarit Centre, will combine live orchestral performances with the atmosphere of a night out.
Presented by 360 Immersive in collaboration with Crispy Life, the concept seeks to give familiar music a different identity by reworking popular songs through orchestral arrangements.
The founders of 360 Immersive say the idea emerged from a desire to change how audiences experience music, particularly in entertainment spaces where familiar tracks often retain the same sound and arrangements.
“We felt there was room to do something different with music. People are familiar with certain songs and how they traditionally sound, but we wanted to challenge that familiarity,” the founders said.
“By reengineering and rearranging these songs through orchestral music, we create an opportunity for people to hear something they already love in a completely new way.”

The founders said their first edition in Kampala, Uganda, had encouraged them to bring the experience to Nairobi.
“Our first edition in Kampala was magical, and bringing The Bar Symphony to Nairobi is an exciting next step for us,” they added.
Unlike conventional orchestral concerts, which are traditionally staged in formal performance venues, The Bar Symphony places live orchestral music within a social entertainment environment.
The Nairobi edition will run under the theme ‘An Orchestral Experience Reimagined’, with organisers targeting audiences interested in experiencing familiar music through a different musical arrangement.
The event marks the introduction of a format that brings classical instrumentation into Nairobi’s contemporary nightlife scene.
