Launched in 2007 by British Columbia’s own Yvonne and David Anderson, Santevia Water Systems has been garnering attention for its aesthetically striking home mineralization and filtration systems, now sold in ten countries across North America, Europe, and Oceania.
With a range of at-home filtration systems on offer, from shower filters to pitchers to their standalone glass water system, Santevia has proven a remarkable homegrown success story, one that we at the Toronto Guardian just had to try out.

Family-owned and operated, Santevia offers eco-friendly products which aim to maximize the benefits of the safe and healthy tap water already available to us. With a strong social commitment – proceeds of every sale support Uganda-based not-for-profit ACTS for Water – the Andersons have made clear their desire to offer “a simple but powerful wellness upgrade” to our drinking water. And, we must say, a welcome alternative to buying single-use bottled water.
Having now spent some time with what’s easily Santevia’s most striking product, the Glass Water System, you can colour us impressed.

The bamboo-and-glass system, with a bed of mineral stones along the bottom making it almost look like a B.C. shoreline, is a lovely addition to any home. Santevia describes the system as filtering tap water and adding minerals such as calcium, magnesium, and potassium. The company also reports reductions in over 90 contaminants, including lead and mercury.
What stands out is how naturally the system doubles as a display piece. The clear glass puts the mineral stones on view, while the bamboo brings warmth to the design. It’s easy to imagine it sitting comfortably on a kitchen counter or dining-room sideboard, with its shoreline-like appearance offering something a little more distinctive than the usual water pitcher.
As a beautiful and functional addition to the home, there’s a lot to like about the Santevia Glass Water System. It brings thoughtful design and everyday practicality together, making filtered water an inviting part of the kitchen. For anyone looking to make the most of their tap water while reducing their reliance on bottled water, this homegrown success story is well worth a look.
