CYDIR

What is your business called and what does it do?

My coaching organization is called CYDIR, it’s an acronym for Converting Your Dreams Into Reality. I coach second-generation family business leaders and guide them to create fulfillment-driven success on their own terms.

Using techniques from NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) and MER® (Mental and Emotional Release® therapy), I guide them to resolve internal conflicts at the root and release negative emotions so they can be clear about what truly matters to them, be free of their baggage, tap into their limitless potential and achieve their desired results.

What made you want to do this work?

In 2019, I took a one-day course called How to Manifest Your Life. I didn’t even know what manifestation meant at the time, but I left knowing I wanted to create my life more consciously. I started meditating the next day, February 4, 2019, and I have meditated every day since.

Since then, I have been learning about how we create our life experience and applying those learnings in my life. In this process, not only did I completely transform my life, I discovered that I am most passionate about inspiring others to elevate their life experience.

I realized that many second-generation family business leaders face similar challenges around identity conflict, expectations, pressure and complex family dynamics. I want to help them overcome these so they can consciously create their life on their own terms.

I do this work because it is the most fulfilling work, and I absolutely love doing it.

What problem did you want to solve with the business?

I believe that every human has the right to create their life on their own terms. While some don’t know they create their own life, others don’t know how to make manifestation work for them.

Their focus is on their strategy. You can have all the strategies in the world, but if your unconscious mind believes you’re not good enough, or that you need your father’s approval before making a decision, you’ll sabotage yourself. A lot of second-generation leaders don’t really have a business problem. They’re dealing with an identity crisis.

All change is unconscious. By changing the programming at an unconscious level, I empower my clients to take back control of their own lives, so they can start creating it instead of managing their circumstances.

Who are your clientele/demographics?

I work with second-generation family business owners based in Canada, the U.S. and India. They grew up in successful households, often South Asian families like mine, and from the outside it looks like they have everything figured out. Internally, however, they’re dealing with pressure to prove themselves, fear of disappointing their parents, and the quiet feeling that the life they’re living isn’t fully theirs.

I also work with people who have taken manifestation courses and are doing everything by the book but aren’t getting results.

How does your business make money? How does it work?

The core offer is one-on-one empowerment coaching. People usually start with a free discovery call. If we are a fit, we start with a Breakthrough Session, which is an intensive session of about eight hours where we release negative emotions and limiting beliefs. Some clients have positively described it as receiving 10 years of therapy in one day.

I also run webinars and workshops, including my annual goal-setting event, Thrive and organize workshops on effective communication, managing expectations and mastering the art of science of manifestation. I also send a free bi-weekly newsletter called Being Limitless and create free educational content, which is a great entry point for people who are curious about this work.

Where in the city can we find your profession?

I’m based in Brampton. I work with clients both in person and virtually over Zoom, and I also host events at local venues in Toronto. My family business has roots in India. We run the Jim Corbett Marriott Resort & Spa, and my coaching practice and day-to-day life are here in Toronto.

What is the best question a prospective customer could ask a member of your profession when comparing services? Give the answer as well.

Ask this: “Are you going to tell me what to do, or are you going to help me discover what’s actually stopping me?”

People predict the possibilities of their future based on their outcomes of the past. They take action based on the programming which was developed in their past. The first step to creating permanent change is to pluck the weeds out. I start with resolving the internal conflicts that stop them from moving forward. Once the baggage has been released, I guide my clients to discover what’s best for them, and I work on the unconscious beliefs and emotions underneath the resistance, so action starts to feel natural instead of forced.

This way, I am coaching them instead of consulting them. A consultant tells you what to do based on what they think is best for you. But that’s their perception. A coach encourages self-discovery and guides you to achieve your desired outcome.

What is the best part about what you do? What is the worst part?

The best part is watching someone shift at the identity level in real time. I worked with a client who came in burnt out and tired of life. The day after her Breakthrough Session, she volunteered to audit and manage her company’s P&L. She went from being terrified of numbers to feeling excited about them. She also got a decent raise because she started feeling worthy.

Another client, in his 60s, believed that working hard meant losing his freedom. After we released that belief, he started building momentum naturally instead of self-sabotaging. That ripple effect is everything to me. When someone changes, they lead their team and family differently too.

The worst part is the stigma. People hear “coach,” and they might think coaches hand out positive affirmations or tell people to manifest harder. This is deep internal work. I also have to remind myself to turn off “coach mode” at home. My wife can always tell when I’m slipping into coaching instead of just being her husband.

What is your favourite joke about your own profession?

That I just tell people to think positively and manifest harder. My job isn’t to give my clients more advice. It’s to help them figure out what’s blocking their success and why their unconscious mind won’t let them take action.

PAY IT FORWARD: What is another local business that you love?

A business I genuinely love is Somanai. It’s a private wellness center and a science-backed space built for high-performing people. They offer personalized services, and their philosophy is that body and mind must work together, not in isolation. This idea deeply resonates with me. My work as a coach focuses on the mind, and Somanai’s approach meets the same from the physical body’s perspective. When you combine these two, that’s what real completeness looks like. I’d encourage you to check them out. They’re doing something genuinely important for a city like Toronto.
