Former Migos member Quavo has confirmed he has become a father for the first time after the private arrival of his baby girl.

The 35-year-old rapper shared the news in a recent interview with Complex, describing fatherhood as a life-changing experience that has given him a renewed sense of purpose and motivation.

“It’s a blessing that God gave me. It’s a whole new state. It brings joy to me. It brings a new reason why I’m doing this. It brings like a new hunger, a new fire to me. I’m just proud to be a father now, cause we used to always talk about that. So I’m just happy about it,” Quavo said.

The announcement comes as he releases his third solo album, QRÖMELIFE, which explores more personal and vulnerable themes, including his grief following the death of his nephew and former Migos groupmate Takeoff in 2022.

Quavo said losing Takeoff also pushed him to resolve past tensions and reconcile with fellow Migos member Offset.

Takeoff, whose real name was Kirshnik Khari Ball, was fatally shot outside a bowling alley in Houston, Texas, on November 1, 2022. He was attending a private event with Quavo, who was not injured in the shooting.

Speaking about the emotions behind his new music, Quavo said Takeoff’s death continues to influence his creative process.

“Just being fueled by my brother, Take, and just bottling in all these emotions, all the pain, all the hard times, all the times I cried and all the times I just made music just to pull up and try to play songs and he not there. I’m just trying to get this fuel from above and this fuel from the sky and call it ‘rocket power,’” he said.

Quavo, whose real name is Quavious Marshall, is among several entertainment figures who have welcomed children in recent months.

Actors Jesse Williams and Alejandra Onieva welcomed their first child together, while actor Dylan Sprouse and model Barbara Palvin celebrated the birth of a baby girl.

Twilight star Taylor Lautner and his wife Tay also announced the arrival of their daughter, Lennon Taylor. Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown and her husband Jake Bongiovi welcomed a baby boy, while actress Lena Dunham confirmed the birth of her daughter through a surrogate.

Rapper Latto has also welcomed a baby girl with fellow rapper 21 Savage.
