Former Kogi East Senator Emmanuel Dangana Ocheja, 74, has married 18-year-old Winifred in a wedding ceremony in Abuja, Nigeria.

The reported 56-year age gap between the couple has sparked discussion online, with photos and videos from their celebrations attracting attention on social media.

The couple began their wedding celebrations with a traditional ceremony on September 13, 2026, at Golden Spring Estate in Lokogoma, Abuja.

They later held a white wedding on September 19 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Maitama.

Videos circulating online show the newlyweds dancing and celebrating with their guests during the ceremonies.

Businessman Isaac Fayose was among those who publicly congratulated the couple. In a social media post, Fayose claimed that Winifred is the granddaughter of one of Ocheja’s close friends.

Ocheja is a lawyer and businessman who served as the senator for Kogi East in Nigeria’s 7th National Assembly from 2011 to 2015.

He is also the principal of Dangana Global Legal Services and has held various leadership positions in Kogi State.

Ocheja is also associated with the Igala traditional establishment, with his family having links to the royal institution of the Igala Kingdom.

The Abuja wedding has since become a talking point online, largely because of the couple’s significant age difference and the reported connection between the bride and Ocheja’s family.
