A new open-air DroneArt Show will bring scenes, music and imagery from the Harry Potter films to the former Downsview Airport for two nights
Toronto’s night sky is set to get a little more magical this fall.
Fans of the Harry Potter film series will be able to watch the wizarding world take flight as DroneArt Show: Harry Potter™ comes to North York for two nights this September, combining large-scale drone choreography, music, film dialogue and live performance.
The outdoor spectacle is scheduled for September 25 and 26, 2026, at 8 p.m. at YZD, the former Downsview Airport, located at 590 Wilson Ave.
Produced by Nova Sky Stories and presented by Warner Bros. Discovery Global Experiences and Fever, the Toronto event will feature 1,200 illuminated drones flying above the audience in synchronized formations designed to recreate iconic moments and imagery from the Harry Potter films.
Rather than presenting the story on a traditional screen, the production will use the night sky itself as its canvas.
1,200 drones will light up the Toronto sky
The centrepiece of the experience will be the fleet of 1,200 illuminated drones, which will move through the sky in choreographed sequences set to music and dialogue from the Harry Potter films.
The production is designed to combine the scale of an outdoor drone display with elements of a live concert. A violinist will perform as part of the show, surrounded by the illuminated aerial spectacle.
Organizers describe the experience as an attempt to recreate the emotional and cinematic qualities of the films in a completely different format.
“We set out to create something that feels as emotional and cinematic as the films, but experienced in a completely new way,” said Sofia Altuna, global lead for DroneArt Show at Fever. “We’re excited to present this experience to audiences in Canada and invite fans for an unforgettable large-scale live spectacle that celebrates the stories they know and love.”
The production is expected to run for approximately 60 minutes, including an intermission.
The audience becomes part of the show
The experience will extend beyond the sky above the audience.
Attendees will receive LED wristbands that can interact with key moments during the performance. The lights are designed to make the audience part of the visual spectacle, adding another layer to the synchronized drone displays.
Before the main performance, visitors can also enjoy a themed atmosphere at the venue, with food and beverage options available and Harry Potter merchandise offered for purchase.
The combination of the outdoor setting, illuminated wristbands, live violin performance and aerial choreography is intended to create more of an event atmosphere than a conventional film screening.
A new kind of Harry Potter experience for Toronto
The Toronto stop is part of a broader international tour of DroneArt Show: Harry Potter™, with performances planned in cities across Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom and Europe.
The production comes from Nova Sky Stories, a company specializing in large-scale drone entertainment, and is being brought to audiences through Fever and Warner Bros. Discovery Global Experiences.
For Toronto, the choice of YZD provides a large open-air setting for the production. The former Downsview Airport site has become an increasingly significant location for major events and redevelopment in North York, and its expansive outdoor environment will allow the drones to be viewed across the sky rather than confined to an indoor venue.

Presale tickets are scheduled to go on sale on Monday, August 17, followed by the general ticket sale on Wednesday, August 19.
Fans can join the waitlist ahead of the sale through the Fever platform for early access to tickets and special offers.
General admission is listed at $75.90 for ages 12 and up, while tickets for children ages three to 11 are $53.90.
