Tanzanian music stars Diamond Platnumz and Zuchu have announced the birth of their daughter.
In a social media post seen by TNX Africa, the couple shared the news on Sunday, August 2, posting hospital photos of the newborn alongside the beaming parents.
“Welcome to the world, our precious little angel,” the joint caption read. “You are already loved more than words can ever say.”
The baby’s arrival follows a turbulent period in the couple’s relationship. Zuchu, born Zuhura Othman Kopa, had previously announced her split from the WCB Wasafi boss before later revealing she was pregnant.
The pair eventually reconciled and hosted a gender reveal party in Dar es Salaam, where Diamond, born Nasibu Abdul Juma Issack, publicly apologised to Zuchu before the couple celebrated together.
The birth comes weeks after the pair confirmed they were expecting a baby girl during the colourful event attended by family and close friends.
One of the biggest talking points from the celebration was Diamond’s gift of about Sh3.8 million (TSh78 million) to Zuchu. Photos and videos from the event quickly went viral, showing the couple celebrating with their guests.
Speaking during the event, Diamond said no amount of money could equal the gift of bringing a child into the world, but he wanted to express his appreciation.
Following the announcement of their daughter’s birth, fans, fellow artistes, and celebrities from across East Africa flooded social media with congratulatory messages.
The newborn is Diamond Platnumz’s fifth child. He shares Princess Tiffah and Prince Nillan with Ugandan businesswoman Zari Hassan, Dylan with Tanzanian model Hamisa Mobetto, and Naseeb Junior with Kenyan singer Tanasha Donna.
Beyond his family life, Diamond’s high-profile relationships, including his widely publicised romance with former Miss Tanzania 2006 Wema Sepetu, have kept his love life in the public eye.
