The team behind the popular Iko Nini podcast has offered a Sh100,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of three suspects who robbed their studio.
According to the team, the robbers made off with two cameras.
The incident was captured on CCTV, and the crew has urged Kenyans to help identify the culprits.
They have since released the footage showing the suspects entering the studio.
In the clip seen by TNX Africa, three men walk in through the front door and begin scanning the room for valuables.
None of them wore masks.
Two had caps on, while the third wore a hoodie.
After briefly checking another room, one suspect starts rummaging through cabinets as another, carrying a bag, begins unmounting a camera from its stand before the footage cuts off.
The video has since gone viral, drawing reactions from Kenyans on social media.
“Aren’t these proper adults who look like fathers? Very embarrassing,” wrote Ntazola Gloria on Instagram.
Another user, Henry, commented, “Wezi hurudisha mtu nyuma sana.” Wamaitha added, “@DCI Kenya shika hawa wezi. Sorry to Mwafreeka.”
Iko Nini podcast host Makarios Ouma, popularly known as Mwafreeka, expressed disappointment over the incident, citing the lack of security at the premises.
“I feel like I brought this on myself by trusting people. I trusted that there was a watchman, and it turns out there isn’t. I am looking at a loss of Sh1.12 million,” he said in part in a YouTube video.
