George Ruto, son of President William Ruto, has delivered on his promise to Kisaju Secondary School in Kajiado County, delivering a school bus and getting netizens talking while at it.

A video circulating on social media captures students and staff beaming with joy as George was adorned with a white shirt and flowers around his shoulders.

At the handover, George was received with jubilation by the school’s leadership, going by a video seen by TNX Africa.

Students even took a first ride on the bus, while local authorities, parents, and teachers welcomed the gift.

Reactions on social media were mixed, some wondering whether he was taking in the footsteps of President Ruto’s generous donations.

Communications consultant David Makali asked, “Where did this boy get the money to fete a school with a bus?”

Ano replied, “He is a businessman, not a lazy man like you.”

Meanwhile, @alvinagwash wrote, “That has to be one of the most stupid questions… where did Uhuru, Moi, Raila, Mudavadi get money? There’s something called inheritance, in case you live under a rock.”

No stranger to the public eye, George is known for his stylish social media presence and love of cool rides.

During the recent WRC Safari Rally in Naivasha, George pulled up to the event in a pristine Mercedes-Benz G63, a favourite toy among global heavyweights and celebrities.

At current market prices, a 2020 model of the G63 costs in excess of Sh30,000,000.

A lover of ‘nganya culture’, George is also linked to two popular matatus, ‘Moneyfest’ and ‘Mood’, both heavily kitted with expensive light and sound modifications and frequently captured plying different routes within the capital.
