A man bearing an incredibly striking resemblance to President William Ruto has captivated Kenyans on social media.
In a viral video seen by TNX Africa, the man, dressed in a white shirt and black trousers, addressed a crowd seated under tents at what appeared to be a church event.
From the moment he began speaking, some attendees were heard remarking that he looked like President Ruto.
As he delivered an exuberant praise to God while introducing himself, he said, “Bwana asifiwe! Kwa majina ni David Murimi. Kristu ni mwokozi wa maisha yangu.”
As he continued with his speech, another voice was heard saying, “Anakaa Ruto,” sparking murmurs of agreement from others who felt he closely resembled the head of state.

Referring to his recent work spreading the gospel alongside a choir from Embakasi, he wrapped up his remarks, “Nimerudi tena nikiwa na kwaya ya Embakasi ambapo tuliendelea kueneza injili. Hapa ni nyumbani, Embakasi ni nyumbani na nimefurahia kuwaona wote.”
The footage drew reactions from Kenyans on social media, with many weighing in on the President’s apparent doppelganger.
On X, user The Mayor joked, “Kumbe Ruto iko ndugu,” while Paul Gitau added, “More like a twin brother.”
Another user, Etila, quipped, “Kasongo on a budget.”
The video reminded many of a past incident where Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka was captured in a photo with the son of his long-time friend, the late Daniel Kimanzi.
The viral photo instantly broke the internet due to the resemblance between the two, from the hair to his stature.
Over time, the photo has become an internet meme, particularly on X, often used when talking about oneself but appearing to refer to someone else.
