Drama after Nadia Mukami delays Maseno show over alleged non-payment dispute

An online debate has erupted after Maseno University management was reportedly accused of failing to settle Kenyan artiste Nadia Mukami’s arrears, delaying her anticipated performance during the Mr & Miss Maseno event.

In a viral video seen by TNX Africa, the “Radio Love” hitmaker is seen seated in her car, speaking on the phone while appearing to look for someone.

“Sasa huko ni wapi, akuje tu hapa. Anakupea ama hakupei?” Mukami says.

The person on the other end responds inaudibly, prompting the “Tesa” singer to nod and reply, “Hapana.”

The clip ends without confirmation on whether the university management made payment.

However, the “Ni Wewe” singer later posted a video on her Instagram page showing a vibrant event, with students singing along to her hit songs “Radio Love” and “Wangu.”

The “Woza” singer wrote, “Maseno Homecoming was such a blessing.”

Hinting at her ties to the institution, she added, “A very proud alumni. Thank you guys for showing me too much love. It was a night that reminded me of how I started. We had too much fun.”

The “Woyoyo” singer did not address the viral video circulating on social media.

Kenyans online shared mixed reactions to the footage.

On X, Bryan Buzz wrote, “Thumbs up Nadia! Btw, its high time artists to teach promoters, labels, and all the other cartels a lesson. There is no way some crooks should continue playing with their money while artists suffer in silence. A deal is a deal!!!”

Another user, Jimmy Julias, added, “Before msanii aingie stage full payment is a must.”
