Media personality Kamene Goro has bravely shared her harrowing health ordeal to her fans.
The 33-year old explained her months-long absence from social media and public life. In an emotional post to her fans, she revealed falling ill in November 2025, unaware of how serious her condition truly was.
The situation worsened dramatically early this year, pushing her to the brink of death. “In January, I almost died,” Kamene said.
She endured a terrifying 12-hour life-or-death window, where four doctors fought to stabilize her.
She was eventually diagnosed with sepsis and abdominal peritonitis, which is an inflammation of the peritoneum, the thin tissue lining the abdomen, they surgically removed five liters of pus from her body.
Complications then ensued as the infection invaded her kidneys, necessitating dialysis, while pneumonia set in and caused one lung to collapse.
The bubbly media personality would spend extended periods in both the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and High Dependency Unit (HDU), battling for survival amid excruciating pain.
Despite intensive treatment, the root cause of her illness is yet to be known, and recovery continues to be a grueling journey.
“It hasn’t been easy,” she confessed, attributing some strain to the pressures of her high-profile and demanding career.
Kamene has since expressed profound gratitude to the medical team, nurses, and supporters whose care pulled her through the darkest moments of her life.
Now on the recovery road, Kamene is embracing a fresh start to the year, celebrating her resilience.
She has urged others facing serious health crises to “Stay strong, seek help, and keep fighting.”
