I’ve not defected to APC – Bala Mohammed

Gov Bala

By Christopher Ameh

Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed on Wednesday said that he had not “moved” from the Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress as claimed in certain circles.

Mohammed spoke at the Government House, Bauchi, when questioned by journalists after swearing in some newly appointed permanent secretaries in the state.

In an attempt to hear from the governor about the rumoured defection, Mohammed simply said: “Pressmen, no interview for now, I will speak with Channels Television soon. I am now an international figure in politics; I don’t want to domesticate myself. I will address this later today. I have not moved, they said that I had long defected,” he said while proceeding to his office.

Mohammed, the Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum, is left with his Oyo State counterpart, Seyi Makinde, as the only PDP governors after the defection of Dauda Lawal (Zamfara), Ahmadu Fintiri (Adamawa), Caleb Mutfwang (Plateau), Agbu Kefas (Taraba), Umo Eno (Akwa Ibom), Sheriff Oborevwori (Delta), Peter Mbah (Enugu), Douye Diri (Bayelsa) and Siminalayi Fubara (Rivers).
