Bridgerton is popularly known for rich its diversity when it comes to casting, thus the thrill of making Kariba’s inclusion a very much significant and notable moment for Kenyan representation on international stage.
Exclusively available on Netflix, the hit series allegedly ranks among the most successful and highly rated streaming series of all time.
As of January 2026, the show peaked at number 1 worldwide on Netflix in more than 70 Countries after the release of Season 4 Part 1, with several seasons appearing in Netflix’s all-time Global Top 10 for English-language series, Season 1 ranking at number 7 and Season 3 at number 9.
Despite of the ‘short premier’ in Bridgerton, Lenana Kariba is a ‘veteran’ when it comes to Kenya’s screens, widely known for his role as Nick in Single Kiasi, one of the most popular local drama series, and for portraying Reagan in the long-running telenovela Selina, others including Kenya’s film Plan B, Family Vacation, and earlier appearances in international productions such as Sense8.
Crediting his wife for her utmost support, Kariba revealed that he normally discusses scripts and navigates the intricacies of his on-screen portrayals with his wife first.
“My wife and I always go through scripts together before I shoot anything… She really is the most understanding person when it comes to my job,” Kariba mentioned in a past interview.
