Travis Scott, the rapper and Kylie Jenner’s ex, has made an unexpected leap into prestige cinema with a surprise role in Christopher Nolan’s upcoming epic The Odyssey.

The revelation came on Sunday when a new television spot for Nolan’s highly anticipated adaptation aired during the AFC Championship game between the New England Patriots and the Denver Broncos on Fox, according to The Daily Mail.

Fans were caught off guard when the 34-year-old musician briefly appeared on screen, delivering a line, no less, suggesting his role may go beyond a simple cameo.

Matt Damon headlines the film as Odysseus, the legendary Greek hero whose clever strategies helped end the Trojan War, only for him to be cursed by the gods and prevented from returning home for nearly 20 years.

The teaser revisits a previously released scene featuring Telemachus, played by Tom Holland, in conversation with Menelaus, portrayed by Jon Bernthal. The updated version, however, now includes Scott’s dramatic interruption.

In the sequence, a noisy gathering of soldiers falls silent as Scott’s character stands atop a table and strikes it forcefully with a staff.

“A war… a man… a trick, a trick to break the walls of Troy,” he declares. “And burn it… screaming to the ground,” Scott concludes, as flashes of the Trojan War unfold onscreen.

Despite the confirmation of his involvement, Scott’s IMDb page does not yet list The Odyssey, leaving fans guessing about the scope and identity of his character.

Based on the teaser, it appears he is part of scenes set years after the war, during Telemachus’s quest to uncover the fate of his missing father, placing him firmly within the broader narrative.

Interestingly, this is not Scott’s first collaboration with Nolan.

The rapper previously worked on Tenet (2020), performing the film’s theme song THE PLAN. Nolan praised Scott’s creative instincts in a GQ interview, noting his impact on the film’s musical identity.

Both artists share a love for IMAX filmmaking, with Scott famously shooting his FRANCHISE music video on IMAX film, a move Nolan personally commended.

Audiences will discover the full extent of Scott’s role when The Odyssey hits theaters on July 17.
