CBS News has confirmed at least 25 deaths in the aftermath of Friday’s trail of tornadoes that barreled through six states — Arkansas, Missouri, Mississippi, Tennessee, Illinois and Kentucky. CBS’s David Begnaud reports. CBS meteorologist and climate specialist Jeff Berardelli breaks down how climate change could have been a major factor in the deadly tornadoes. We” hear from Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear, Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson, U.S. COVID-19 cases are up 37-percent from last week, and the Omicron variant has been found in 27 states. CBS’s Mark Strassmann reports on the ongoing impacts of the coronavirus pandemic in the United States.
